Maintenance of wheelchairs
First of all, it is necessary to fully understand the equipment and how to use it. The functions of the buttons are everywhere.
1.Do not buy things and be unable to use them flexibly at critical moments, especially how to start quickly and how to stop. They can play a key role in emergency situations.
2. Keep the machine body clean and place it in a dry and well-ventilated area to prevent corrosion of accessories.
3. Before using the wheelchair and within one month, check if the bolts are loose. If any are loose, tighten them promptly. During normal use, conduct a check every three months to ensure that all components are intact. Inspect all kinds of powerful nuts on the wheelchair (especially the fixing nuts of the rear axle). If any are found loose, they need to be adjusted and tightened in time.
4. Please regularly check the condition of the tires, repair the rotating parts in time and add a small amount of lubricating oil regularly.
5.Sometimes when going out, it's inevitable to get muddy or wet from the rain. Be sure to clean and wipe off the dirt in time and apply anti-rust wax. Rainwater is too acidic. If the dirt is not cleaned up in time, it is easy to rust the wheelchair, at least visually affecting its appearance.
6. Keep the tire pressure sufficient and avoid contact with oil and acidic substances to prevent deterioration.
7. The connecting bolts of the wheelchair frame are loose connections and must not be tightened.
8. For electric wheelchairs, when in use, it is necessary to develop the habit of charging and keep the battery fully charged. It is prohibited to store lost electricity. If an electric wheelchair is not used for a long time, the power-off storage will seriously affect its service life. The longer it is idle, the more severe the battery damage will be. Idle electric wheelchairs should develop the habit of regular charging. Keep the battery in a "fully charged state" for a long time. And avoid rain! Handle with care, etc.
9. Regularly check the flexibility of the rotating structure and apply lubricant. If for some reason the axle of the wheel needs to be removed, make sure the nut is tightened and will not loosen when reinstalled.
10. The connecting bolts of the wheelchair frame are loose connections and must not be tightened.
A wheelchair is the second pair of feet for elderly people with lower body disabilities or limited mobility. Moreover, many people are like this: after buying a wheelchair and bringing it home, as long as it doesn't break down, they generally won't check or maintain it. They feel very reassured, but in fact, this is a wrong approach. Although manufacturers can guarantee the quality of wheelchairs, they cannot guarantee that they will be fine after being used for a period of time. Therefore, to maintain the condition of wheelchairs, regular maintenance is necessary.
